Travel advisor remains one of the hottest careers in the U.S., according to LinkedIn's latest Jobs on the Rise report for 2026.
The all-important profession ranked as high as fifth in 2025, but still sits firmly in the top 25, ranking 18th this year and edging out a handful of notable jobs, including psychiatric nurse practitioner, quantitative researcher and analyst, financial advisor and planner, construction project lead, legal researcher, public affairs specialist and benefits advisor.
"Travel advisors help clients plan and book travel experiences, coordinating logistics and providing tailored recommendations to fit their preferences and budgets," LinkedIn states.
According to the professional networking platform, most travel advisor jobs are in New York City, Miami and Los Angeles, with the current gender distribution leaning 82 percent female, up 2 percent from a year ago.
The median years of prior experience were 5.3, while top roles transitioned from include administrative assistant, salesperson, and customer service representative.
Most common skills identified include travel planning, travel management and business travel, with flex work availability coming in at 15.4 percent remote and 3.7 percent hybrid.
LinkedIn Economic Graph researchers analyzed millions of jobs started by LinkedIn members from January 1, 2023, to July 31, 2025, to calculate a growth rate for each job title.
